Bahadır BALKI joined ACTECON in June 2008 and became one of the partners at the end of 2013. BALKI has led the teams representing the Turkey chapter in many of the global acquisitions, notably telecommunication, aviation, airline ground handling services, FMCG, transportation, cement, harbour and ro-ro services, cinematography and iron and steel industries. He also provided advocacy services to Turkish and international companies for competition investigations in banking, insurance, iron & steel, ro-ro services, FMCG, telecommunication, broadcasting rights of Turkish Football Super League, automotive, cement and ready mixed concrete industries.
BALKI also represents manufacturers and exporters’ associations in antidumping and review investigations. BALKI has represented international companies in a number of investigations initiated by Turkish and foreign authorities in different industries such as solar panels, iron & steel, ceramics, textile products, BOPP film, flat glass, bicycle inner tube/bicycle tyre, powered hoeing machines, machine-made carpets.
Bahadır BALKI graduated from Bahçeşehir University in 2006 and completed his post graduate study in Universitat des Saarlandes – Europa Institut in 2008 with a master’s degree in Economics Law. BALKI is currently continuing his doctorate in the field of European Union Law and serves as an academic referee in the Competition Journal published by the Turkish Competition Authority. BALKI was appointed as a non-public delegate by the Turkish Competition Authority at the International Competition Network meeting in Morocco in 2014 and represented Turkey. In addition, he gives seminars on mergers and acquisitions within the scope of competition law at the summer school of the European Law Students Association (ELSA) which is organized every year. He is also a guest trainer at Competition Law at Practice Seminars organized by Bilgi University.
